Marathon Canoe Race Event at Enderby (Shuswap River)

Saturday morning: 2 hour (approx. 20 km) tandem race where paddlers choose their own partners. Course would be similar to previous years (upstream/downstream return with side-channel loops). Let us know if you are looking for a partner or a boat and we may be able to connect you with someone. Fun prizes for top-finishers and participants.
-Race briefing at 9 am.
-Start time: 10 am.

Saturday and Sunday afternoons: relaxed group paddle. We will encourage and coordinate opportunities for less experienced paddlers to pair with experienced ones.

Sunday morning: 3-4 short (~10 min) tandem races with good views for spectators. Race organizers will choose the teams to level the playing field and make things interesting; you will be paddling with a different partner each race. Prizes for individuals with top cumulative scores across all races.
-Race briefing at 9 am.
-Start time: 10 am.

Rules of competition for the Saturday and Sunday morning races will follow the Marathon Canoe Racing Council Safety Code (as approved by Canoe Kayak Canada)

If you are in need of a canoe to use for the weekend, particularly for the tandem race on Saturday morning, please contact Scott Decker (email: decker_scott@hotmail.com; cell: 250.572.3593); we likely can arrange for loan or rental of a boat for you.
